Mazda 787B. Notable for being the first Japanese car to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991 with Bertrand Gachot, Volker Weidler and Johnny Herbert at the wheel, although this is not that exact car.
This paint scheme replicates chassis number 787B-001 which also raced at the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans, and was also entered by Mazdaspeed. The car was driven by David Kennedy, Stefan Johansson and Maurizio Sandro Sala and Pierre Dieudonné (who never drove the car) and finished sixth. Notable for a very unique-sounding 2.6L quad-rotor 26B engine, the 787B remains and probably will remain the first (and only) car to win Le Mans without a reciprocating engine.
