'95 Mazda RX-7. Designed by Tom Matano, Yoichi Sato and Wu-huang Chin, the car featured an updated body design and a new engine, the 13B-REW, with a sequential twin-turbocharger system exported from Japan developed with the assistance of Hitachi. This system provided 10 psi (0.69 bar) of boost at 1,800 rpm, with the other activating at 4,000 rpm to provide and maintain 10 psi until redline; the changeover process occurred at around 4,500 rpm with a momentary dip in pressure to 8 psi (0.55 bar), providing semi-linear acceleration from a wide torque curve. Production began in 1992 and ended in 2002, with 68,589 produced.
