Designed by Ferdinand Porsche (yes, the guy who would end up founding that company), the Beetle was a two-door rear-engined economy car manufactured continuously from 1938 to 2003. The concept and fundamental objectives of a people's car was formulated by a certain Adolf Hitler, who wanted a car that was cheap, simple and easy to mass produce. Internally known as the Volkswagen Type 1, the Beetle holds the record of being the longest running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made, with 21,529,464 produced. Production ended in 2003 when the last Beetle rolled off the Puebla production line in Mexico.

Now, about the casting. This casting is a tuned up, tricked out version of the Volkswagen Beetle. It features a lowered front end, fat rear tires and a "stinger" exhaust pipe. This casting was designed by Mark Jones and made its debut in the 2020 Cruise Boulevard Car Culture set. As of the time of writing, this is the casting's only release, although it will see a second release when the next wave of Team Transporters roll around in a Mooneyes livery.
