This is an '08 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, often shortened to Evo X. Designed by Omer Halilhodžić, the Evolution X was presaged by the Concept-X, basically showcasing what the next generation Lancer Evolution would look like; a second concept, the Prototype-X, would follow two years later. Powered by a 2.0L 4B11T turbocharged inline-6 pumping out between 276 to 440 BHP, the Evolution X was continously updated throughout its lifespan. Featuring a 6-speed dual clutch automatic (and various other transmissions), the Evolution X was by far the longest running Lancer Evolution, remaining in production for close to ten years before it was finally discontinued in May 2016.

Now, about the casting. This casting was designed by John Violette and introduced in 2008. This casting has received thirty-two known releases and remains highly popular to this day. This casting has a highly blocky feel and something that hasn't been seen on Hot Wheels cars for some time: plastic inserts as headlamps.
