This is an '01 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. Designed by Hidefumi Kato, the year 2000 heralded the introduction of the second generation Subaru Impreza; the car featured a radical restyling which prompted a mixed reception. It was because of this restyling that the car was nicknamed the "bugeye" among enthusiasts. The WRX was introduced in December 2000. Initially introduced with a 2.0L EJ207 turbocharged flat-4 mated to a 5-speed transmission from the previous generation Impreza, the cars were later fitted with 6-speed transmissions as the 5-speed transmissions proved to be rather weak. The cars also featured 17" × 7.5" alloy wheels. Power output for the engine was variously reported from 261 to 280 BHP. The car would then be restyled by Peter Stevens with slightly more angular headlamps, and then further by Andreas Zapatinas with even more angular headlamps; these versions are dubbed the "blobeye" and "hawkeye" respectively among enthusiasts. Production ended in 2007, to be replaced by the next generation of Impreza.

This casting was designed by Mark Jones and introduced in the Cars & Donuts Car Culture series in 2017. This casting has seen two known releases, the last being as a 2019 release with Gumball 3000 graphics.
