This is a 2004 Subaru Forester STi. Designed by Masahiko Kobayashi and internally designated the SG9, the Forester STi is a high-performance version of the standard second generation Subaru Forester.
Compared to the standard Forester, the Forester STi features a different front and rear fascia; mechanically the car incorporates numerous parts from the Impreza WRX STi. The Forester STi is powered by a 2.5L EJ255 turbocharged flat-4, mated to a strengthened 6-speed manual specific to the Forester STi; the engine produces 261 horsepower, thanks to a better breathing manifold shared with the Impreza WRX STi. The Forester STi was also equipped with a larger intercooler and low back pressure exhaust system.
The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 230 km/h (140 mph). To cope with the car's added power the Forester STi also featured a number of suspension upgrades such as sport springs, revised struts and larger anti-roll bars and cross members, making the car sit lower in comparison to the regular Forester; it also features a new steering rack with quicker ratios for more deliberate turn-ins and sits on 18-inch alloys on Bridgestone Potenza rubbers. Never sold outside of Japan, Forester STi production ceased in 2008 with the discontinuation of the second generation Forester. 3,645 were produced.
