This is a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Designed by Yoshito Watanabe, Ji-won Kim, Kōsuke Kubo and Tokiko Horai among others, the Land Cruiser Prado acts as a smaller brother to the more luxury-oriented Land Cruiser.
Unveiled in August 2023 at an event in Toyota City, this generation of Land Cruiser Prado, the J250, marked a stark design shift in comparison to the previous generation, focusing on "practicality, durability and dependability". The car's exterior is noted as being boxy and retro-styled, being inspired by the J60 series Land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser Prado is sold as the Land Cruiser 250 in Japan and as simply the Land Cruiser in Europe, North America and some other territories; it is also badge-engineered as the Lexus GX 550 and GX 550h.
The Land Cruiser Prado is built on the TNGA GA-F platform underpinning its big brother, claiming to have increases in frame and overall rigidity. In the United States the Land Cruiser is available in three trim levels: 1958, Land Cruiser and First Edition. The sole powertrain in the US is the i-Force Max, a 2.4L T24A-FTS inline-4 with a parallel hybrid power train for some 326 horsepower. Transmission options include a 6- or 8-speed automatic.
The J250 is the first Land Cruiser Prado to feature electronic power steering for better off-roading ability. All models are equipped with full-time all-wheel drive with a Torsen LSD and manual locking, as well as an electronic two-speed transfer case and electronic locking rear diff. Production commenced in October 2023; prices start at $56,700.
Now this casting was designed by Rob Matthes and introduced in 2025 in the Car Culture line. This casting has seen two known releases, the other being a black Chase version.
