This is a 2024 Honda Civic Type R. Designed by Dai Hara, the Civic Type R is a high-performance liftback version of the Honda Civic. Internally designated the FL5, the Civic Type R was introduced on 20 July 2022, but had been teased for a number of months prior with a few camouflaged pre-production models.
Compared to the previous generation, the FK8, the FL5 Civic Type R features a tamer design, with less prominent decorative cents and smaller air outlets. It also uses smaller 19-inch wheels, but uses wider tires. The car also features wider fenders and wider rear doors and quarters. Under the hood is the same 2.0L K20C1 turbocharged inline-4 as its predecessor, but now producing 325 horsepower thanks to a revised turbocharger and incremental changes to the engine. As with the last few Civic Type Rs the only transmission option is a 6-speed manual. The car is assembled in Yorii, Saitama, where the standard Civic lift back is produced, production having moved back to Japan after the closure of Honda's Swindon plant in the UK.
The Civic Type R has already broken a number of records, such as being the fastest front-wheel drive car around Suzuka Circuit and the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the latter with a time of 7:39.691 driven by Néstor Girolami. The car competes in a number of series, including Super GT, Super Taikyu and the TCR World Tour. Production began in 2022.
Now this casting was designed by Ron Wong and introduced in 2024 in the Hot Wheels Boulevard lineup. This casting has seen two known releases, the last being this one in a 2-Pack; although both are virtually identical you can tell which is which by their base codes.
