This is a '68 Dodge Charger R/T; I'm going to split this up into two parts, first to talk about the '68 Chargers in general, then this specific car.
The B-body Dodge Charger was introduced in 1966 and produced until 1978. Designed by Richard Sias and Harvey Winn, the '68 Charger featured new coke bottle styling with curves around the front fenders and rear quarter panels. Transmission options available were a number of TorqueFlite transmissions and featured a number of engines, from the 225 ci (3.7L) Slant-6 to the beefy 440 ci (7.2L) RB V8; the standard engine was a 318 ci (5.2L) LA V8. 1968 was also the first year for the R/T (Road/Track) package, with the 440 V8 standard. This engine made the Charger the top Chrysler muscle car at the time. 96,100 Chargers were produced for '68, with about 17,000 being R/Ts.
This specific Charger is a highly modified '68 Charger rebuilt by Speedkore Performance Group. The car features a wider stance, lowered suspension, modified front fenders which arch inward towards the wheels, a roll cage and, most notably, a HEMI V8 stuck in the rear. This car will be driven by Dom Toretto in the film. It features a magnet in its engine and is said to be the Ice Charger from the previous movie sans those cosmetic modifications.
Now this casting was designed by Phil Riehlman specifically for the Fast Stars sub-series of the Fast & Furious Premium Line. This is currently the casting's only release.
