The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX is the ninth generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the sports sedan and rally-tuned version of the Mitsubishi Lancer. The Evo IX, as it is colloquially known, was designed by Shuzō Akamine and Hiroshi Fujii and produced from 2005 to 2007. It was also available in wagon form and was available in three trim levels, GT, GT-A and MR; production ended in 2007 with the car replaced with the Evolution X, with the wagon body style dropped for the next generation. 2,924 were produced.
