This is a 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser, internally designated the FJ43. Part of the third generation of the Land Cruiser name, the J40 series of Land Cruisers was originally introduced in August 1960.
The J40's chassis was the same as the previous J20 generation with three different wheelbase lengths; a fourth extended wheelbase version was added in 1963, intended for use for pickups and cab and chassis trucks mainly intended for export. A number of body variations were available for the J40, such as a soft top, two- and four-door wagons, pickup truck and even fire truck. The Land Cruiser was originally launched with a 3.8L F inline-6, with more options added later such as diesel engines.
The J40 was also notable for being produced in Brazil as the Bandeirante, powered by locally-produced Mercedes-Benz engines; production of those versions commenced in 1968. The FJ43 was launched in 1960; said to be "extremely rare", it was a two-door medium-wheelbase vehicle with four-wheel drive available in either soft or hardtop versions. The J40 series was largely replaced in 1984 by the J70 series Land Cruiser, still in production today; the Brazilian Bandeirantes remained in production until 2001. Its design led to the conception of the later FJ Cruiser which was produced from 2006 to 2022. Today, the J40 is noted as a reliable cross-country vehicle.
Now this casting was designed by Dima Shakhmatov and Ron Wong and introduced in 2024 in the Fast & Furious Premium Series. This is currently its only release. The car depicted appeared as a background car in The Fate of The Furious although the car depicted was fairly extensively modified.
