This is a Custom 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat. Designed by Heath Hilliard, the Maverick is a four-door compact pickup truck produced by Ford since 2021 for the 2022 model year onwards.
Available only as a four-door pickup with a short bed, the Maverick uses a front-wheel drive-based unibody platform shared with the Escape and Bronco Sport. The name "Maverick", used on a number of cars in Ford's past, was selected as it resonated with younger customers. Launched on 8 June 2021, the Maverick is available in three trim levels: XL, XLT and Lariat in order of tier.
Engine options include a 2.5L hybrid Atkinson cycle inline-4 or a 2.0L EcoBoost inline-4, mated to a HF45 CVT and a 8F35 8-speed automatic respectively; the hybrid powertrain is said to be more popular. The Lariat trim level has leather-trimmed seating surfaces and steering wheel, heated and powered front seats, cruise control, power mirrors and whatever else is available on the XLT.
Production commenced on 2 September 2021 at Ford's Hermosillo Plant in Mexico, with Ford soon accepting orders for the 2022 model year; demand was so strong that Ford suspended orders in January 2022 due to a production backlog. They would later accept orders for the 2023 model year for one week in July; Ford would say the strong demand indicated consumer support for a more affordable pickup truck.
Now this casting was designed by Fraser Campbell and introduced in 2024 in the HW Hot Trucks segment of the mainline. This depicts a 2022 Ford Maverick with significant modifications such as a bodykit, front splitter, spoiler, hood vents and lowered stance. This is its only release.
