This is a '96 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Designed by Donald Wood, the fourth generation of Chevrolet C/K trucks began manufacture in 1988. Computers took a greater role when it came to the design of the truck; unlike previous generations, this generation did not give the C/K a name moniker (i.e. "Advance Design", "Task Force" etc.) although after its discontinuation the trucks were often referred to as the OBS (Old Body Style). 1996 models received daytime running lights as standard. Production ended in 2002, ending production of the C/K series trucks; these were then replaced by the Silverado.

Silverado body shells have been used en masse in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series. These have been used since the series's inception in 1995 and continue to be used to this day. The Chevy trucks are the second most successful manufacturer in the series, behind Toyota, winning 10 championships compared to Toyota's 11. The truck won the championship in its first year or competition. Today, Silverado shells are still in use.

Now this casting was designed by Phil Riehlman and Larry Wood and introduced in 1996 as a mainline. This casting was last seen in 2018 as part of the 100 Years of Chevy Trucks themed assortment.
