This is a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC AMG Widebody. Designed by Bruno Sacco and Werner Breitschwerdt, the 560 SEC was a high-performance version of the Mercedes-Benz W126, the second generation of Mercedes-Benz's S-Class.
Based on the standard 560 SEC, German tuner AMG took this car and turned it into the ultimate high-end German performance machine. Produced in the days when AMG was still an independent tuning company, the 560 SEC was the perfect candidate for AMG's modifications. AMG took the basic Bruno Sacco design and gave it a rebellious widebody kit; the result was a car which looked imperious with its flared fenders, side skirts, front lip and 17-inch AMG alloys.
The car's 5.6L M117.968 V8 was bored up to 6.0L, now producing 385 BHP and allowing it to catapult from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in under 6 seconds. The car also sports Recaro bucket seats, walnut wood trim and an AMG steering wheel. The car's styling may have rubbed people the wrong way when it was originally introduced, but it is now highly revered and is currently one of the most collectible AMG models. Actual production figures of the widebody 560 SEC AMG are unknown, although a commonly cited figure is about 50.
Now this casting was designed by Sonny Fisher and introduced in the HW Turbo segment of the 2023 mainline. This casting has seen five known releases, the last being this one in 2025. A sixth is expected some time this year.
