This is a DeLorean Time Machine. Created by Dr. Emmett Brown and driven by Marty McFly, this is essentially a DMC DeLorean retrofitted with a flux capacitor. The car is powered with 1.21 gigawatts supplied by a plutonium-powered nuclear fission reactor; if plutonium is absent lightning may be used instead which is channeled through the flux capacitor. In 2015, the car is fitted with a Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor, turning home waste into electricity to power the car, and gains the ability to hover. All you gotta do is floor the fun pedal and take it to 88 mph... and it'll take us back to the future. Or the past.
The actual car was the brainchild of Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. They were built by Universal Studios, with six produced for the film, including the three main cars; the A, B and C cars (the Hero, Stunt and Interior cars respectively). All three main cars are known to survive and are located in different places; the Hero car is currently located in the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
Now this casting was designed by Manson Cheung and introduced in 2011 in the mainline. This casting has seen eight known releases, the last in 2020 as an Amazon exclusive. A ninth Hot Wheels id release is soon to follow.
