This is a Koenigsegg Agera R. Designed by Christian von Koenigsegg, the Agera R set out to be one of the most extreme hypercars the world had ever seen, back in 2011. Introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in the above livery, the Agera R was fitted with a 5.0L twin-turbocharged V8 pumping out 1140 BHP with biofuel. A 7-speed dual clutch transmission is standard, built in-house by Koenigsegg. The car stunned the world by setting numerous speed records around 2011; it has a theoretical top speed of 273 mph (439 km/h). With levels of performance comparable to that of the Bugatti Veyron, this car was able (and still is able) to hang with the best of them. The car has also had some screen presence, when an Agera R (actually a replica) was featured in the movie Need For Speed in 2014. Production of the Agera R ended in 2014 with 18 produced; production of the Agera as a whole ended in 2019 with the release of the Jesko.
Now this casting was designed by Bryan Benedict and introduced in 2014 in the Hot Wheels Entertainment series, replicating the replica from the movie Need For Speed; said version is notably quite costly to acquire today. After an absence of six years, the casting returned to the Hot Wheels lineup in the Boulevard line in 2020. This casting has seen one further release as of now, in the Replica Entertainment series, replicating the Team37 Agera which participated in the 2019 Gumball 3000, shown here. This makes the Agera have three releases in total.
A curiosity: the base of the Need For Speed release reads "Koenigsegg CCX". This was evidently fixed on later models.
