The Honda Civic is a series of automobiles produced by Honda since 1972. The first generation of the Civic, introduced in 1972, laid down the foundation by which Honda has followed since when producing automobiles and Honda's first genuine market success. Production ended in 1979.
This casting depicts a 1973 Honda Civic with lowered stance and modifications. This casting was designed as a tribute to Ryu Asada; graphics for the initial release were done by Andrés Andrieu, his first basic tampo design.

The ’73 Honda Civic Custom made its Hot Wheels debut in the 2023 HW J-Imports series. It is based on a 1973 Honda Civic that has been lowered and customized with flared wheel arches, a rear spoiler, and rally lights.
