This is a Custom 1997 Toyota Chaser Tourer V. Designed by Yukihiko Yaguchi and internally designated the JZX100, the Chaser was a mid-sized sedan featuring a notably sporty image.
The Chaser was part of what people considered Toyota's "triplet sedans", comprising the Chaser, Cressida (Mark II) and Cresta, which all shared the same platform. The Chaser had a few different trim levels mainly under the Avante and Tourer trim levels; the Avante acted as the luxury-oriented version while the Tourer acted as the performance-oriented version. Under the hood of the car was a 2.5L 1JZ-GTE turbocharged inline-6, mated to a 5-speed Toyota R154 manual transmission.
The Chaser, Cresta and Mark II were often known as the "four-door Supra" as they shared an engine and offered similar performance; due to the shared engines the cars could also be modified in a similar way to the Supra. The Chasers also featured i-Four all-wheel drive on the Avante Four and Avante Four G packages. The lineup was updated in 1997 with a few additional trim levels, while the Tourer was updated in 1998 with an optional manual transmission, as well as receiving a facelift.
Today, Chasers have become cult classics and are highly revered among the various echelons of Japanese automobiles, being frequent candidates for modification and motorsport, particularly in drifting circles. The Chaser was discontinued in June 2001 and replaced by the Verossa, which used the same platform but had a significantly different appearance; the Cresta was discontinued alongside the Chaser but the Mark II continued on until 2004 (the Mark II Blit, the wagon version of the Mark II, was discontinued in 2007).
Now this casting was designed by Ron Wong and introduced in 2025. This is currently its only release. It was loosely derived from the Elite 64 Chaser casting designed by Mark Jones.
