This is the No. 1 Gulf Team Davidoff McLaren F1 GTR, chassis 28R. Designed by Gordon Murray and Peter Stevens, the F1 GTR was a race-prepared version of the McLaren F1 road car.

Murray, who designed the F1, believed his creation to be the ultimate road car, initially had no intent to take the car racing; with the creation of the BPR Global GT Series in 1994, team owners such as Ray Bellm, Thomas Bscher and John Nielsen saw potential in the F1 and turned to Murray in an attempt to convince him to offer a racing version for GT competition, to which he ultimately relented. The first cars were built in 1995 and 1996, but with the rules for what was now known as the FIA GT Championship altered for 1997, significant alterations to the F1 GTR were required.

While the F1 GTR was still powered by the BMW S70/2 V12, gone was the old bodywork and in came new purpose-built aerodynamic bodywork to maximize downforce and a 6-speed Xtrac P191 sequential manual; the engine itself was also heavily revised, being stroked down to 6.0L from 6.1L to prolong engine life while still maintaining 600 hp. A homologation special, the F1 GT, was constructed to allow McLaren to build what was such a significant departure from the standard F1. 10 chassis were built; no previous cars were upgraded to this specification.

28R was originally constructed as 27R in 1997 and was the last F1 GTR built; it was damaged in transport with its chassis plate moved to what is now known as 27R. It was rebuilt and assigned to Gulf Team Davidoff (GTC Competition) as their spare car and first raced at the Nürburgring; the car's best finish was 6th at Laguna Seca. The car was first retained by GTC before returning to McLaren and sold to Jim Gainer Racing in Japan; after changing hands a few times 28R is currently owned by Lionel Robert where it was given a road-legal conversion by Lanzante Limited in 2017.

Now this casting was designed by Ron Wong and introduced in 2026. This is currently its only release.
