This is an Custom 1982 Toyota Celica Supra. Designed by Kazuo Morohoshi of Calty Design Research and known in Japan as the Celica XX, the Celica Supra was redesigned for the 1981 model year, along with the entire Celica lineup. While still based on the Celica a number of key differences were evident, such as the pop-up headlamps and the front end design. Its most notable difference was under the hood, with a new inline-6 engine replacing the inline-4. In North America, two trims were available: the P-type (Performance) and the L-type (Luxury); both options were mechanically identical but had different options.

The L-Type and P-Type were differentiated by their available options: tire size, wheel size and body trim. The P-Type featured fiberglass fender flares while the L-Type did not, as well as having 8-way adjustable seats. Few changes were made to the Supra in 1982, apart from an increase in power for the 5M-GE engine and a new 4-speed automatic, which has an electronic controller which adjusted its shift pattern for a balance between performance and economy, the first in the industry to do so. Production continued until 1985.

Now this casting was designed by Lindsey Lee and introduced in 2023 in the HW: The '80s segment of the mainline. It is a significant rework of Larry Wood's '82 Supra casting from 1983. This casting has seen three known releases, the last being this one in the Car Culture line.

HKL08 is 167/250 in the mainline set, 10/10 in the HW: The ’80s series, and a 2023 Super Treasure Hunt. It is Spectraflame red with black stripes and details.

Decorating the back of the car are “Toyota Supra” and the Hot Wheels logo. “TH” can also be found on the back.

Features include tinted windows, a black interior, and a black plastic Malaysia base. The Real Rider wheels have 10-spoke rims.

The vehicle can be found in mix “J” of 2023 Hot Wheels mainline cases.

This is the Hot Wheels debut of the ’82 Toyota Supra. It is based on the second generation sports car and features a single “winking” pop-up headlight.

Debuted for the first time to the North American public in 1977 as "The Car of the '80s" in US ads, the Toyota Celica Supra was a spinoff of the Celica. Produced from 1982 to 1986, the second generation of the Supra appeared similar to the Celica it was spun off from but featured a longer wheelbase and a different front fascia.

This casting is based on the '82 Supra casting designed by Larry Wood in 1983, but is heavily updated, featuring a single exposed pop-up headlamp "wink", lowered stance, wider bolt-on fenders, hood vents, louvered rear and side windows, a small ducktail spoiler and front and rear diffusers and lips. Compared to the older casting the new casting's body lines are slightly wider even without the widebody kit.
