The S-10 Blazer (and the related GMC S-15 Jimmy) were compact (or mid-size) SUVs marketed by Chevrolet and GMC. These were based on the underpinnings of the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15 pickup trucks respectively. Introduced in 1982, the Blazer did not feature the removable hardtop as featured on its larger counterpart, the K-5 Blazer. The cars featured a 2.0L GM LG2 OHV inline-4 as standard in most territories, but where emissions laws were prevalent, a 1.9L Isuzu LR1 inline-4 was used instead. The Blazer continued to be updated throughout its production life, most notably with the addition of the 4.3L LB4/L36 V6 in an attempt for it to remain competitive in the segment. Production ended in 1994 when a new generation of the S-10 Blazer was introduced.

Now, about the casting. This casting was designed by Larry Wood and first introduced in 1984 in the Mainline. In this guise, the Blazer received thirteen releases, and was then retooled in 2012 to cast the opening doors shut; the retooled version saw another two releases. The casting was retooled AGAIN in 2016, now featuring a plastic base for its return into the mainline, some details on the roof rack (looks like a bunch of random stuff), an open rear window and a new grill; this second retool has seen ten releases.
