This is a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Designed by Shuzo Akamine and Hiroshi Fujii, the Evolution IX is the ninth iteration of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

Introduced on 3 March 2005 in Japan and the Geneva Motor Show, the Evolution IX, or Evo 9 as it is commonly known, featured numerous enhancements over previous Evos. The Evo IX was fitted with a 2.0L 4G63 turbocharged inline-4, making 287 hp; this was mated to a 5- or 6-speed manual. The engine has the MIVEC variable valve timing system and a revised turbocharger design. The car was also made available in the United States, being introduced at the New York International Auto Show in April 2005.

Despite the enhancements, many features were carried over from the Evo VIII, such as a rooftop generator, BBS forged wheels, HID xenon headlights, foglights, special badging and an aluminum roof among other changes. A number of trim levels were available for the Evo IX, from RS to GSR. Also introduced for this generation was a wagon version, known as the Evolution IX Wagon, which was only sold in Japan and produced in low numbers. Production ended in 2007 with the introduction of the Evolution X. Since then, the Evolution IX has become a favorite among car enthusiasts and the modding scene.

Now this casting was designed by Fraser Campbell and introduced in 2023 in the Fast and Furious line. This casting has seen four known releases, the last being this one in 2025 in the Car Culture lineup.

The Evo IX has notable screen presence in the film The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. It is fitted with an APR body kit, RAYS G-Games 99B wheels, RMR air intake and exhaust systems, Takata 4-point harnesses and other things. The car's front driveshafts are disconnected. Ten were used for filming; only one survived.

Launched in 2005 by Hot Wheels, the Lancer Evolution VII is a direct representation of Mitsubishi's Seventh generation Lancer Evolution model. Originally only intended for sale in Japan, enthusiast demand in Europe brought the Lancer out of its JDM shell and through a firm called RalliArt introduced into Europe, but not North America.

This casting was originally introduced with a plastic body and separate wing. In 2008, the casting was given a metal body with the wing molded into the body as opposed to being separate; all future releases have used this body. The base of the casting reads Mitsubishi Evo 7; later versions read Mitsubishi Evo.
